She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and very special niece and nephews, Jan Copi and Jack Poupard, who were more like children to her. A very dear friend, Jackie Gooden, who is like a sister; dear friends, Linda and Ernie Boggs and Butch and Debra Smith; and her special furry friend, Samcat, who was with her until she left for her final home.

Ruby was a woman whose presence made an immediate impression. From the moment you met her, you couldn't help but notice her impeccable taste in clothes and shoes. She never left the house without her hair perfectly done and her makeup flawlessly applied. But what truly stood out even more was her kindness and the genuine warmth she extended to everyone she met.

A devout member of the Loyall First Baptist Church, Ruby cherished her involvement in the Maurine Grant Ladies Circle, Wednesday night Bible study with Chris Campbell, and the Ladies II Sunday school class. She was always eager to join the senior group for outings or gather with friends at Rax on Friday nights for fish or Mexican skins. Known affectionately as Granny, Mom, Sis, Gran-Gran, Aunt Ruby, and Ruby Jean. She had a nurturing spirit that made everyone feel like family. She loved her family deeply and was equally devoted to her church family.

Ruby's love for cooking was legendary. She would prepare grand holiday meals, each dish infused with her special touch. Her family fondly remembers spending hours in the kitchen with her, learning the secrets behind her "dab of this" and "pinch of that." These treasured moments led to the creation of Treasures from Ruby's Kitchen, a collection of her beloved recipes that will continue to bring her family together for generations to come.

Though Ruby spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, she also worked outside the home at Newberry's Department Store, Bowers Department Store, and Belk Simpson and retired from the furniture department at McComb Supply.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who offered their kindness and support during Ruby's illness in recent months. Their compassion has meant the world to the family during this time. They include Bluegrass Navigators Hospice, nurses Tiffany and Heather, aides Bridgett and Susan, Chaplain Cristen, and everyone who brought equipment and answered the 24-hour hotline. Lisa Ely, who was able to convince Mom that she really wasn't a babysitter but just a friend who had come to visit; our dear friend and housekeeper, Jean Saylor, who is always there for us; Doctor Maythili Gudipati; Doctor Ganti, and Doctor Damma at the Daniel Boone Clinic, and the doctors at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

In addition to flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Ruby Fisher's memory to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice or Loyall First Baptist Church Maurine Grant Ladies Circle.

Mrs. Fisher's family will receive friends at the Loyal Baptist Church from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024. A Funeral Service will follow at 8 PM. Graveside interment will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Resthaven Cemetery.
