Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home - MonticelloRuby Garbison, 92, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 peacefully with family.
She was born on March 1, 1933 in Jackson, KY to the late Clarence Joseph and Lola J. (Weyerman) Joseph Hensley. On January 27, 1953 she married Richard Martin in Monticello. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1996. On May 9, 1998 she married Bernard "Bernie" Garbison in Monticello. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2005.
Ruby was very proud that she had recently been baptized on January 30, 2026.
In her earlier years, she had worked at Bryan Manufacturing, Wilson Foods and JH Saylor Co. She spent the remainder of her life as a devoted caregiver for both of her husbands and close friends. She was a former member of the Eagles and American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafting, plants and flower gardening, sewing and singing. She looked forward to going to the casino with her gambling girls. Most of all, she cherished her family.
She is survived by her children, James (Debby) Martin of Crothersville, IN Judy (Ed) Nies of Royal Center, Jerry (Bobbi) Martin of Kokomo, and bonus daughter, Shirley (Dave) Hartman of TX; son-in-law, Bruce Klawinski of FL siblings, Sharon (Bill) Jackson of CO and Lonnie Joseph of Monticello; grandchildren, Bonita (Lee) Stansfield, Stacey (Jeff) Tevis of Logansport, Shane Denny of Royal Center, Ken Martin, Krista (Mike) Mesirow, David (Krista) Klawinski, Nick (Jennifer) Klawinski; bonus grandchildren, Jenny (Frank) Purciful of Royal Center, Bob (Jennifer) Nies of Logansport, Joe (Kristin) Nies of Logansport, Megan (Dustin) Dillman of Royal Center; several great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family; and her dog, Peanut.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Klawinski; son-in-law, Rocky Denny; six brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2026 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
