Ruby E. Hapke, 77, of Clayton, Illinois, passed away at 5:38 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Born on August 31, 1947, in Brown County, Illinois, Ruby was the daughter of Helmore and Sheila Elzie Travis.
Ruby’s life was one filled with simple joys and deep connections. Whether she was spending time with family, offering a helping hand, or sharing laughter, her presence was always felt and appreciated.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, especially in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian Baucom (Nicole) of Liberty, IL, and Jeff Baucom (Dawn) of Bowling Green, MO; two grandchildren, Sierra Baucom and Dalton Baucom (Katie); a great-granddaughter, Jayllen Rae Baucom; her brother, Joe Travis; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Henson and Bonny Cain; and two brothers, Morris Travis and William Travis.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton. Per Ruby’s wishes, cremation will follow the visitation.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
