Ruby J. Hollopeter

Ruby J. Hollopeter, 70, Anderson, passed away March 12, 2007 at her residence.

She was born March 16, 1936 in Gadberry, KY and lived in Anderson most of her life. She graduated from Lapel High School.

She was the owner of the New Image Beauty Salon for 30 years, where she was a hairdresser and esthetician.

Ruby was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Eagles Lodge, American Legion, Redman’s Lodge, American Business Association and was a US Air Force Veteran. She was very active in the Look Good, Feel Good program for cancer patients and Red Hat Society.

She was a professional clown, known as “Ziggi” and taught clown classes. She was selected “Clown of the Year” in 2000 and “Hairdresser of the Year” by the Anderson Cosmetology Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Rita (husband, Ken) Cloud of Hermitage, PA and Lisa (husband, Dwight) Webb of Markleville; four grandchildren, Lindsay Brammer, Courtney (husband, Jacob) Wasserman, Ashley Webb and Austin Webb, great grandson, Tristan Wasserman; sisters, Mary Millage, Opal White and Gloria Clark, all of Anderson; brothers, Francis Coomer of Elwood, Paul Coomer of Indianapolis and Frank Coomer of FL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Hollopeter; parents, Guy and Mattie Coomer; brothers, John, Marvin, Lemuel and James Coomer; and sisters, Ann Blockson and Ruth Furkins.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
