Ruby B. Johnson

Johnson, Ruby B. age 93, of Hayfield, formerly of Anoka, passed away Nov. 29 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born July 23, 1914 in Minneapolis to John & Estella Opem. She lived in Constance, MN most of her young life attending grade school there and graduating from high school in Anoka. She married John Arnold Johnson on Aug. 20, 1932 and lived in Sentinel Butte for three years; they moved to Anoka where she and her husband worked at Federal Cartridge until retirement. She moved to the Farmstead Apartments in Andover for several years and then moved to CrestView Villa Apartments in Hayfield, MN for 1 1/2 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka and belonged to the Sons of Norway and the Historical Society. Her many hobbies included crafts, flowers, genealogy, traveling, painting, Scrabble, cards and hosting many parties for family and friends. Survived by daughter, Eileen (Allan) Scott of Sargeant, MN; son, Paul (Myra) Johnson of TX; 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great- grandchildren; special friend, Rex Camp of Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her husband; 1 brother, 1 sister and 1 great-grandchild. Memorial service Tuesday, 3:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 4th & Adams St., Anoka. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Visitation 1/2 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials preferred to donor's choice. Thurston-Lindberg Chapel 763-421-0220
