Ruby Lynn Moore King

Ruby Lynn Moore King, age 96, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Ruby was born on Sunday, March 9, 1930, in Old Fort, Tennessee, to the late Mr. James Park Moore and the late Mrs. Emma Sue Hayes Moore.

In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. John Riley King.  She is also preceded in death by her son, John 'Tony' Gordon, as well as her granddaughter, Robin Cherry.  Ruby is also preceded in death by her siblings: JT Moore, James Moore, Jr., Farris Moore, Billy Moore, Grace Summey, Mildred Cox, and JoAnn Stewart.

Ruby is survived by her children: Melinda (Paul) Cross, Carolyn Cherry, Bill (Nellie) Gordon, and Justin (Melissa) King; her 10 grandchildren, Kyle Cross, Conner Cross, Catrin (Coy) Ward, Megan (Randall) Bates, Jacob King, Bill (Sherrie) Cherry, Jill (Daniel) Amos, Shawn Gordon, Christy (Richard) Holcombe, and Michael (Julia) Gordon.

Ruby is further survived by her siblings: Bobby Moore, Sarah Jane Edwards, Emma Jean Silvers, and Betty Byrd.

Ruby's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Regency Park Health and Rehabilitation for the exceptional care and support they showed Ruby during the final days of her life.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Ruby's life will be conducted on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest in West Hill Cemetery.

Ruby's family will receive friends for visitation at Love Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., as well as on Monday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
