Ruby Link Glasscock Parrish

ROUGEMONT ~ Ruby Link Glasscock Parrish, 96, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at her home. She was born in Virgilina, VA to the late Edmond Jones Link and Sadie Lillian Tysinger Link on March 4, 1929. She was also preceded in death by her spouses, Lloyd Norman Glasscock and Bobby Lee Parrish; son, William Marshall Glasscock; sisters, Ella Smith, Lois Glasscock and Louise Howerton.
Ruby was a graduate of Virgilina High School, Class of 1946. She attended nursing school in South Boston prior to starting her family. She was a farmer all her life, enjoyed being a house wife/mother and for a short time worked for Durham Drapery. She was a skilled seamstress. She loved to fresh and salt water fish and was an avid "fisher woman". She enjoyed going camping with family and friends. She spent countless hours working puzzles of all kinds, but her passion was doing jigsaw puzzles. She was an active member of Red Mountain Baptist Church in Rougemont NC where she sang in the choir, taught children's Sunday School and was the final surviving member of the Adult V Seniors Sunday School class.
Mrs. Parrish is survived by her daughter, Dorinda Glasscock Laughinghouse (Rodney); son, Norman "Butch" Glasscock (Barbara); grandchildren, Roy Glasscock, Michael Glasscock, Megan Laughinghouse McBroom (Jordan) Dana Laughinghouse Drake (Jeremy), Jason Stewart (Melanie); great grandchildren, Dakota Glasscock, Jesse Glasscock, Devin McBroom, Austin Drake, Jarred Drake, Benjamin Drake and Riley Stewart Thacker (Drew).
The family is now receiving food and visits at Ruby's home. A funeral service will be held at Red Mountain Baptist Church on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Dave Pryor and Pastor Cameron Lewis. The family will have a visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to Red Mountain Baptist Church Youth.
