Ruby Ellis McClellan

Ruby Ellis McClellan, 80, of Wauchula, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on May 5, 2025. Born on January 27, 1945, in Wauchula, Florida, she was the beloved daughter of James Brock and Neta Stafford Brock. Ruby was a cherished resident of Hardee County for 46 years, having moved from Sebring, Florida.
Ruby dedicated her life to serving others, working as a cafeteria worker for the Hardee County school system, where she touched the lives of countless children. Her passion for nurturing and caring for others extended beyond her work; she was known for her selflessness and unwavering support for her family and friends. Ruby had a deep love for children, baseball, and wrestling, often spending her time cheering on her favorite teams and supporting her loved ones in their endeavors.
She is survived by her loving children: Darryl Sanders Sr. of Arkansas; Larry McClellan Jr. and Amy of Lake Placid, Florida; and David Sanders Sr. of Wauchula, Florida, and Debbie McNabb and Keith of Wauchula, Florida, along with 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Larry McClellan, her parents, James and Neta Brock, as well as her brothers, Alfred and Leroy Brock, and her sister, Veda Mae Layport.
Ruby Ellis McClellan will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love for her family, and her commitment to making the world a better place through her caring actions. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
