Ruby Raines Obituary
A lifelong resident of Henderson County, Mrs. Raines had worked for several clothing manufacturers as a seamstress and was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, but her passion was her family, who will always remember as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Raines was the daughter of the late Ralph and Evelyn Barnwell Quinn. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Julian Coyis Raines, Sr.; two brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are her children: Cathy Gail Clontz and husband Melvin, Deborah Summey, and Julian Coyis Raines, Jr. and wife Phyllis; three grandsons: James, Kevin and Ronnie; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, December 18, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Monday in the Kirby Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home.
Shuler Funeral Home is honored to assist Mrs. Raines' family with her arrangements.
