Ruby Darlene Salsman

Ruby Darlene Salsman, 83, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1942, in Tryon, Oklahoma to Theodore and Laura Dobbs. Ruby married the love of her life, Dan Salsman, on March 11, 1961.
She spent her life extending love, compassion and care to those around her, both at home and occupationally, beginning her career by working at a church daycare in OKC, eventually opening her own home daycare and, later in life, working as a medical assistant for The Cancer Center at Southwest Medical Center where she routinely brightened the days of both patients and medical staff. Ruby was known for her sweet and engaging nature, making all who met her feel comfortable and important. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved without limits and lived a life of gratefulness and grace, patience and purpose. Ruby was actively involved in high school, dedicating her time to cheerleading, Pep Club, Student Council, as an F. H. A. Officer, Glee Club, Optimist Staff and was crowned homecoming queen. Ruby's enduring spirit spoke of her unwavering commitment to her family, her friends, and her faith in Jesus Christ. Ruby has finished her race and received her reward in Heaven.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Dan, son Teddy and granddaughter Lindsay, brothers Kenny Dobbs, Carl Dobbs as well as her sister Vernal Reese. Survivors include her sisters; Lisa Vesper of Edmond, Oklahoma; Sheila and husband Dick Brock of Yukon, Oklahoma, Martha Dobbs, and Phyllis Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son, Travis Salsman and wife Erin Salsman of Norman, Oklahoma, and daughter, Danna Salsman of Moore, Oklahoma as well as 7 grandchildren: Keely, David, Alan, Emily, Chandler, Cale and Summer.
Come and go visitation will be Wednesday, November 5 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the John Ireland Funeral Home at 120 S. Broadway in Moore. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6 at 10:00 AM at Bethesda Church in Oklahoma City. The committal service will be held at 2:00 PM at the Carney Cemetery.
