Ruby Phillips Simmons, age 94 of Erin, TN, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Signature Healthcare of Erin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Gus Crockett and Kris Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
The Simmons family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Monday morning.
Ruby entered this life on June 9, 1930 in Dickson, TN, daughter to the late Richard and Essie Phillips. Ruby was a member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church, and had a love for cooking, sewing, and traveling. However, her true passion in life was her family; she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Simmons; daughter, Shirley Colahan; siblings, Bobby Phillips, Pauline Phillips; son-in-law, James Colahan; and brother-in-law, Artest Waynick.
Survivors include her loving son, Donnie (Tammy) Simmons; siblings, Noble (Billie) Phillips, Eula Waynick; and sister-in-law, Patsy Phillips. Ruby also leaves behind her precious grandsons, Drew Simmons, Thomas Colahan; and step great-granddaughter, Anne Wilkes.
Serving as pallbearers will be Drew Simmons, Thomas Colahan, Gary Waynick, Mike Powell, Keith Morrison, Anthony Rye, Jason Clark, and Joel Clark.
