Ruby Eudy Sloop, 86, of Mt. Holly, NC, peacefully passed away at her residence on Saturday November 16, 2024. Born on July 6, 1938, in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Segal and Lucille Eudy. Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Sloop, earlier this year.  She is also preceded by brothers, Grady Eudy and Curtis Eudy.

A proud graduate of Wingate High School, Ruby was known for her exceptional culinary skills, especially her chocolate cake and banana pudding that delighted her family. She cherished hosting family gatherings and had a passion for yard sales and enjoying the great outdoors. Most importantly, she found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by her loving children, Donald A. Sloop and his wife Laura, and Bobbie Hatcher and her husband Frank. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Slack and husband Mickey, Evelyn Miller, and her brother Gene Eudy. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren, April Sloop, Tricia McQueen (Chris), Brooke Hatcher (Kaiser), and Kyle Hatcher (Campbell) and three great-grandchildren Jesse Bellflower (Delaney), James and Sadie McQueen. Additionally, she was cherished by Vickie Williams and Mike Caton, who regarded her as their second mother, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Services in Mt. Holly, with Reverend Frank Hatcher and her grandson Kyle Hatcher officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, "A Quiet Place," in Belmont.

Also Special Thanks to her Hospice nurses as well as her neighbors Kenny and Lisa for their care.
