Ruby Stephens Obituary
Ruby Evelyne (King) Stephens age 91 of Williamstown, Kentucky formerly of Pine Knot, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Gallatin Nursing & Rehab Center.
She was born on April 23, 1933 in Creekmore, Kentucky to the late Charles C. King and Nora (Stephens) King.
In addition to her parents, Evelyne is preceded in death by her husband, Kurtis Stephens; a son, Marvin Lee Stephens; grandchildren: Heather Slaughter, Tiffany Baird and Garrett Baird, brothers, Donald King, and Leo King; sisters, Rose Anderson, Kathleen Grant, Ethel Baird; sisters-in-law, Evelyn King and Deloris King; and brothers-in-law, Bill Anderson, Ed Meadows, and Leamon Baird.
Surviving family include her sons, Willard Stephens (and Patricia) of Pine Knot, Kurtis Dale Stephens (and Debra) of Florence, Kentucky, and Bobby Charles Stephens (and Peggy) of Williamstown, Kentucky; daughters, Jewel Baird (and Benny) of Pine Knot, Wilma Vargas (and Lee) of Florence, and Kathey Merrell (and Randy) of Hebron, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are brothers, Linville King, Francis King, and Cecil King (and Toni); sisters, Anna Anderson (and Willis) and Bonnie Meadows; and sisters-in-law, Cynthia King and Christine McNeal.
Evelyne was a member of the Church of God Assembly and loved attending church services. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, and talking on the phone. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Stephens officiating. Burial to follow in the Jones Cemetery in Strunk, Kentucky. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday after 12:00 noon until service time.
