Ruby Jewel Steward, of Farmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2026, at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 90. She was born on September 27, 1935, in Diersburg, Tennessee, to Tommie Louise Hall.
Ruby is survived by her daughters, Gail (Bob) Steel of Bellview, Missouri, and Tammy (Dave) Gierse of The Villages, Florida; her granddaughter, Erica (Mike) Sokeland of Farmington, Missouri, and their children, Hayden Miller, Hayley Miller, and Addison Sokeland. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren: Miranda (Scott) Miceli of Huntington, Maryland; Lauren (Matt) Bode of St. Peters, Missouri; Micah (Hannah) Gierse of Fenton, Missouri; Christopher Steel of Park Hills, Missouri; and Danielle (Sean) Voyles of Park Hills, Missouri; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Madge (Gene) Winch, Brenda (David) Lence, Betty Kinney and Mattie Marrs; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie Louise and Alpheus Green; her brothers, Thomas Steward, Duke Green, William Green, and Eddie Green; and her sisters, Helen Chapdelain and Evelyn Barnes.
Ruby worked for many years at Trimfoot Shoe Factory. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Farmington. She found great joy in cooking, dancing, shopping, and reading her Bible. Ruby loved her family dearly and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at Cozean Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Greg Robinson. Private inurnment at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. View the video tribute and share your memories at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
