Rudolph "Rudy" Cutrera, 87, of Blowing Rock, North Carolina passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Charles A Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, NC.
He was born on April 15, 1937 in Cook County, Illinois, a son of the late Joseph Cutrera and the late Theresa Scariano Cutrera.
Rudy worked for the Georgia Pacific Corporation in Riviera Beach, Florida and was the Operations Manager for 30 years. In 1991 he purchased the Alpine Village Inn in downtown Blowing Rock and he and his wife were Inn Keepers for over 22 years. He was such a people person and his kindness to his customers resonated for years and helped make the Alpine Village Inn a place where people still come to year after year.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cutrera; mother, Theresa Cutrera; Brother, Samuel Cutrera; .
Rudy leaves behind to cherish his memory wife Mary Ryan Cutrera; three daughters, Katherine (Charles) Smid of Blowing Rock, NC, Caroline (Robert) Valet of Blowing Rock, NC, Mary Beth (Marc) Cleveland of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Patrick (Jennifer) Cutrera of Chicago, IL, Thomas (Michelle) Cutrera of Fort Pierce, FL; sister, Judith Ann (Norm) Foray of West Chicago, Ilinois; two brothers, Richard (Elizabeth) Cutrera of Vero Beach, Fl, Robert Cutrera of Franklin Park, Ilinois, and 5 grandchildren, Robert Tyler Valet, Zachary Paul Valet, Christian Ryan Valet, John Ryan Cleveland and Julian Vincent Cleveland.
Services for Rudolph Cutrera will be held in Chicago, Illinois at the Holy Seplacure Cemetary in Alsip, Illinois later this summer.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the medical professionals, Physicians, APCs', nurses, CNAs, social workers, environmental services, caregivers, and everyone involved in his care at Watauga Medical Center and Cannon Memorial Hospital. We are forever grateful for the care he received during his final days and find comfort that he was cared for by such amazing and caring staff at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
