Rudolph Reid Obituary
Rudy was a devoted father and a true family man whose life was defined by his giving and loving spirit. He had an incredible ability to touch the lives of others with his warmth and selflessness, offering a comforting presence and a listening ear to all who needed it.
He was the cornerstone of his family, always leading with wisdom and unconditional love. Rudy cherished the simple joys of life, finding happiness in the company of loved ones and in moments that celebrated family unity.
Rudy's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of a generous heart. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rudy had a distinguished career as an architect for the U.S. Navy, where he traveled the world assessing ships and aircraft carriers. While his career took him to distant places, his heart was always at home with his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones, creating cherished memories of laughter and warmth.
Rudy is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Vernona Sands Reid; his devoted daughters, Niki (Tim Geckeler) and Sheri (Brian Williams); and his adored grandchildren, Aidan, MaKenzie, and Adyson. He also leaves behind his older brother, William "Billy" Reid(Alberta and children); special nephews Sean Hall and Michael Mack(Dee); and loving sister in law Dr. Connie Hall and other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Rudy's life will be held at Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Temple on November 30, 2024 at 11:00am.
Rudy's legacy is one of unwavering love, selflessness, and generosity. His presence touched all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
