Ruediger "Rudy" Michitsch of Wilton, CT, passed away Sunday October 23, 2022, in Norwalk, CT at the age of 85.
He was born September 17, 1937, in Gottschee, Yugoslavia, son of the late Josef and Rosalia (Koenig) Michitsch. Rudy emigrated from Yugoslavia to the United States in 1950. He graduated from Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, NY, in 1955, then served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Rudy ran a trimmings business in the garment district, R M Industries in Manhattan, NY and in his later years, a self-employed contractor in Queens, NY.
He is survived by his son Mark Michitsch of Yonkers, NY; daughters Christina Lalande of Plainfield, NJ, Pamela Bisantz of Brewster, NY; brother Herbert Michitsch of Kenilworth, NJ and grandchildren Ava and Christopher Lalande, Jaclyn, Sophia and Claudia Bisantz and Ryan, Riley and Mark Michitsch. He was predeceased by his sister Marie Koesel
Calling hours will take place Friday October 28, 2022, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm with a service starting at 2:00 pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY followed by the burial in Milltown Rural Cemetery in Brewster.
Contributions in Rudy's memory may be made to the Dementia Society at dementiasociety.org.
