Rufus Lawson

Rufus Lawson, aged 56, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at his residence in London, KY. He was born on May 4, 1969, in Redbird, KY, the son of Benny Lee and Mae (Roark) Lawson. He is preceded in death by his father, Benny Lee Lawson, and a brother, George Lawson.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Sherry of London, KY; four children: Felicia Mills, Brittany Mills, Natasha Smith, and Tyler Lawson, all of London, KY; seven grandchildren: Gabriell Messer, Bailey Allen, Jayden Allen, Branson May, Makenna May, Cayden May, and Kinsley May; three siblings: Martin Lawson and significant other Crystal Baker, Albert Roark and significant other Tracy Eversole, and Brenda Lawson, all of Manchester, KY; special friend Lonnie Lawson, and a special aunt, Wilma Nolan; plus, a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Rufus Lawson will be conducted on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Hampton Celebration of Life Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Hubbard Cemetery in Goose Rock, KY. Serving as pallbearers will be family & friends. The family of Rufus Lawson will receive friends from 6 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
