Rui Costa Obituary
Rui Joao Costa, 79, of Pawtucket, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. He was the husband of the late Eduardina (Terra) Costa. Born in Calheta, Madeira Island, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria Gabriella (Andrade) DeCosta.
Rui worked as a Factory Worker in Central Falls for many years. He was a member of the Madeira Club in Central Falls and a frequent patron of Valley Park Pub in Cumberland. Rui was also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cumberland.
He leaves behind his sons, Rui Rafael Costa and Duarte Nuno Barros Costa, both of Funchal, Madeira; siblings, Antonio Costa of Cumberland, Luis Costa of Cumberland, Duarte Costa (Teresa) of Pawtucket, Rafael Costa of Cumberland, and Eusebio Costa of Scituate; nieces, Ana Costa Bissonnette of Pawtucket, Sue Rodrigues of Cumberland, and Michele Alexion of Douglas, MA, and nephew, Carlos Costa of Douglas, MA.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 7 p.m. at the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. VISITATION will be held prior to the service from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
