One of our own local celebrities, Rupert, beloved companion of Ashley Dean, passed away early Friday morning, December 19th after difficulties from surgery to remove a thyroid tumor.
Most of us have had the pleasure of meeting Rupert since you didn’t see Ash without him by her side. She had the pleasure of taking him to work everyday to her hair shop: Vlasy Salon. Clients were greeted with his snorts and farts. He would make his rounds begging for food and climbing on laps for a back massage. A French Bulldog that traveled with her, dined at restaurants, and demanded boujee treatment.
The love and obsession that a dog could have for their owner and an owner could have for their dog was without a doubt nothing you could put into words. You could see it in the way they looked at one another and the bond that only soulmates have. For 13 years..Ashley and Rupert have been inseparable. Rupert was not just a dog..he was her child..her everyday..and her everything. A true blessing to her and he put smiles on many faces. He will be waiting for her at the pearly gates.
