Russel Marvin O'Neil, 98, of Douglass, KS, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 in Winfield. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Douglass, KS. Burial will follow at Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, KS. Marvin was born in Winfield, KS on July 31, 1927, to the late Ruth Laura (Copple) and Walter Russell O'Neil. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Marvin later retired as an inspector from Cessna after many dedicated years of work. He was a member of the Midwestern Vintage Chevy Car Club for many years and had several Chevrolet vehicles he liked to show. On June 18, 1945 he married Kathleen Elizabeth (Reynolds) O'Neil in Newkirk, OK. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2006. He is survived by: daughter, Judy Hatfield; daughter in law, Patricia O'Neil; grandchildren, Weston Bucher (Tiffany), Ashley O'Neil (Stephanie), and Calen O'Neil; great grandchildren, Hunter O'Neil and Julian Bucher. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe O'Neil; brother, Leonard O'Neil; son in law, Jim Hatfield; grandsons, Ryan O'Neil and Dustin O'Neil. Memorial donations may be made to Douglass Senior Center 124 W 4th St. Douglass, KS 67039.
