Russell F. George

age 94, of Eaton, Ohio, entered Heaven’s gates on July 18th, 2024.

Russell was welcomed into the world on June 19th, 1930 to parents Emery A. and Marie E. (Hilbert) George in Covington, Kentucky.

Russell loved his family, his work family, and his animals. He enjoyed dancing and listening to music. In his earlier years, he served his country in the United States Army. He went on to serve his community as a volunteer fireman for the Camden Fire Department. He continued his passion for God and his brotherhood as a disc jockey for a Christian radio station in Dayton, Ohio. While many his age would be long retired, he was employed for 16 years until the age of 93 at Travel America in Eaton, Ohio where he took pride in his work and enjoyed helping others. Those who knew and loved him will miss hearing Russell sending them off with a heartfelt, “God Bless You”.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Ruth Dickerson, Eleanor Beckett, Richard George, Evelyn Jerdon, Donald George, John George; daughter-in-law, Bonnie George; and grandson Terry Dotson.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce George; brother, Roger (Maxine) George; children, Malcom George, Carolyn (Shannon) Neal, Donald George, Ron (Leanne) George, Jani (Timothy) MtCastle, Cindy Dotson (Wes Boomershine), Russell (Joyce) George, Rebecca George, Pattrick George (Pamela Fugate), Donnie F. George (Wendy Lawrence); many grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and endless friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 25 from 4pm to 6pm at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria.  The funeral service will begin at 6pm with burial to follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
