Russell asked me if I had a metal detector, I said yes but don´t know how to use it very well. He told me he was digging potatoes in the garden and lost his wedding ring. He said he had not had it off his finger since they married. I told him I would come look but couldn´t make any promises. We went out in the garden and every time the detector would go off, Russell would dig alittle and come up with a potato he had missed. This went one for several times and Russell said that´s the best potato detector I´ve ever seen. I adjusted the detector some and we walked alittle ways down the row search and the detector light up nd went crazy! I said let´s try here. Yeppers, Russell dug a little and came up with his wedding ring. He jumped up and took off running to the house to show Denise he had found it. He was so happy that day and I really had my doubts we would find it but wanted to give it a try to help Russell out. He came back out of the house with a bag of potatoes as a tank you gift. I´m going to miss visiting with Russell. We always laughed about that day.

I too was a fellow TIer

Sometimes I would look out my kitchen window and see Russell´s car in the driveway. He had come to fish the pond. He like fishing there, cause Darrell kept it mowed and he could see a snake! He usually left with an enough fish for dinner . He will truly be missed .

Uncle Russell is my husband's uncle. We Love Uncle Russell. He always had stories to tell about growing up on the farm. Everyone loved Uncle Russell & Aunt Denise. We have family reunions and a mini-reunion with the Green's distant cousins. Our family reunions are pretty big most of the time with somewhere around 30-40 people and more. The one thing that I had to make for all gatherings was my homemade Coconut Pies. I had to make two because between Uncle Royce and Uncle Russell there was always going to be a fuss over who got the first piece and whatever was left over. Even after his throat surgery he couldn't eat the coconut but he sure could eat the pie without the meringue on top. They always made time to come to the holidays we have. Didn't really miss to many gatherings.

My girls love him a lot and my grandkids love Uncle Russell.

We love both of them Russell & Denise.

My very first boss at TI. Will always be remembered with a coffee in one hand and a cigarette in the other. RIP Russell, I´ll always remember you and you always had my back.
