Russell L. Hissong

Russell L. Hissong, age 83, passed away peacefully the morning of April 23,2025. He was born August 5, 1941, in Canton, Ohio to George and Ida (Minesinger) Hissong, who preceded him in death. Also, preceding Russell in death was his son, Timothy Hissong.
Russell retired from Stark Industrial in 2006 after over 40 years of employment with the company. He loved people. His passion was clocks, and he made a hobby of turning and repairing the hands of time. He opened a clock shop in North Canton after his retirement and for over 10 years found purpose in making his passion a reality. It was meticulous work taking patience and of course, time. There were times when customers could not pay for the work done. For Russell, it was not about the money, it was about sending a message of doing good.
Russell is survived by his wife, Janice Hissong; daughter, Melissa Hissong; son, Mark Hissong (Sebastian Krop); grandchildren, Jace Hissong and Emily Hissong-Krop; and brothers, Jeffrey Hissong and George (Helen) Hissong.
In keeping with the wishes of Russell, there will be no visitation or service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
