It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Russell Eugene King III, also known as little Rusty, 54, of Lancaster, Ohio.

Russell Eugene King III was born on September 28, 1969, to Russell (Katherine) King II and Rebecca (Robert) Monk.

He is survived by his caring parents; his pride and joy, his sons, Russell (Madison), Jerry (Bay), and Easton; partner, Dana Morehead; brothers, Jeremey (Heather) Conkle, Robert (Linda) Conkle, and Kevin Conkle; sisters, Shelley (Russell) Cochenour and Tiffiny (Morgan) Micochero; grandchildren, Harper, Amelia, Finley, and Hattie; grandfather, Donald Albertini; James (Paula) Moody, as well as many other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Russell King, Betty King, Thelma Albertini, and Reba Roemer; and infant siblings, Lindey King and Dawn King.

Among many other wonderful qualities, little Rusty will be remembered for being a proud father and papaw, Michigan Wolverine and Lancaster Golden Gale enthusiast, avid golfer, competitive bowler, gambler, hunter, fisher, and machinist. He was a member of the Lancaster Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge clubs. He also loved going on road trips with his partner.

He was a busy man who dedicated his life to having fun with his favorite people. There is nothing he loved more than watching his sons play ball but a close second would be cracking jokes and teasing everyone who was around. Rusty was loving, funny, ornery, and his snarky grin is already so missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., then again on Saturday, March 23, 2024,  from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a brief service at 1:00 p.m at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio. Following the service, Caring Cremation® will take place according to the family’s wishes.
