Russell Raymond "Russ" Oberembt

Russell Raymond Oberembt passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday September 9, 2025.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 9-10:30 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Dallas Center, Iowa.

Russ was born December 7, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Raymond and Annabelle (Degen) Oberembt. He graduated from Adel High School, Adel, Iowa, in 1974 and AIB College of Business. He was a beloved co-worker in telecommunications for 30+ years in Minneapolis and Des Moines.

Among his passions were riding on two wheels, music, good food, the outdoors, competing in a triathlon and coaching his sons. Russ's family and faith were the pillars in his life, exemplified by his community service as a 4th degree Knights of Columbus.

Russ is survived by his two sons, Michael and Lance; his brother, Rick (Cindy); his mother, Ann; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, and many cousins. Russ was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; his brother, Randy and the mother of his children, Marla.
