Russell Dale Robertson, 56 years old, Passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born in Hammond, Louisiana on January 17, 1969, to the late Annie Black Robertson and Stanley R. Robertson. Russell lived his life in Loranger, Louisiana until the past several years before becoming a resident of Ponchatoula Community Care due to complications of diabetes.
Russell was a 1987 graduate of Loranger High School and was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ, Independence, Louisiana. He loved to watch all sports and could give you statistics on almost any game or player. Russell also loved cheering for the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. His brother-in-law, Troy, gave him one of his great joys of going to his first LSU game. In his spare time, he could be found playing Bingo with the other residents at the nursing home.
Russell is survived by his sisters, Glenda Peek, Pam McKinney (Troy), Tracy Robertson, Marcy Ball (James Cutrer); brother, Keith Robertson (Roslyn); nieces and nephews, Jamie Robertson (Waverly), Stephanie Harvey (Dalton McElveen), Marley Ray Graves, Chase Stevens (Mandy), Annie Ball, and Allison Ball. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Lee Black, and Goldie and Ray Robertson; brother-in-law, James Peek.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Oak Grove Church of Christ, 16693 LA-40, Independence, LA 70443. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Dale Ziebarth officiating the services.
A reception will follow the service at Oak Grove Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital or to Oak Grove Church of Christ.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home.
