Frances Ann Piediscalzo Mangano peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 94. She was born on Wednesday, August 12, 1931, in Hammond, to the late Christopher and Phillipine Graziano Piediscalzo. She was a resident of Hammond.
Frances loved being outdoors in her yard, whether she was mowing the grass or raking leaves. She enjoyed her regular trips to Walmart, Golden Corral, Rouses, and Hobby Lobby. Frances was well known for her Italian Christmas cookies and her Sunday sauce with meatballs, which she made with care and shared with loved ones. A devoted Catholic and longtime member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Frances cherished her faith and especially loved attending Saturday Mass.
Frances is survived by her son, C.J. Mangano; grandchildren, Theresa Wainwright Alack (Dean), Laura Mangano Welch (John), and Bradley Alack (Susan); great-grandchildren, Kyle Falterman (Desiree), Caleb Welch, Gage Welch, Bradley Alack, Jr.; and great-great-grandson, Piercen Scott Falterman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Biaggio Anthony Mangano; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Mangano; parents, Christopher and Phillipine Graziano Piediscalzo; brother, Joseph S. Piediscalzo; and sister, Annie Piediscalzo Greco.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond, from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father Carlos officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chris Piediscalzo, Bradley Alack, Kyle Falterman, John Welch, Gage Welch, Caleb Welch, and honorary pallbearer, Bradley Alack, Jr.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.
The family would like to thank Hospice Specialist of Louisiana, her caregiver, Renee Wilkinson, and Dr. Susan Zacharia with Northshore Internal Medicine Associates, for their kindness and compassion over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church in memory of Frances.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
