Russell Singleton Sr., 79, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2024 at 8:24pm surrounded by his loving family. Russell was a native of Morgan City, LA and a resident of Gibson, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00am until service time. Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Chauvin Funeral Home at 11:00am with burial following services in Rosehill Church Cemetery at 451 Deadwood Road, Gibson, LA.
Russell is survived by his loving family; his wife of fifty-seven years, Marion Williams Singleton; his children, Russell Singleton Jr., Tella Singleton, Tracey Singleton Woods (Sean), Rodney Singleton, Ramon Singleton Sr. (Meocha); brothers, Lloyd Singleton Sr. (Jackie), and Arthur Singleton II (Virginia); many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Bobbie Henderson (Louis), and Joyce Singleton.
Russell is preceded in passing by his parents, Arthur Singleton Sr. and Mathilda Anderson Singleton; brother, Ernest Singleton Sr., and sister, Denise Singleton.
Russell was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a successful oilfield company. He was a deacon while his wife Marion was a pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Houma. They guided, loved, and uplifted the community. They did great things like provided school supplies for the children. He loved everyone regardless of how they looked. His favorite word was compassion. He always said God wants us to be more compassionate to others. He met friends anywhere and everywhere, leaving an everlasting legacy of joy for all to remember him by.
