Born June 12, 1986

Survived by faithful companion Chop, Mother Vicky Reyes and Father Russell Smith Sr. (Carmen), Sister Jessy Beaulieu, step-sister LaCadie Martell, and Step-son, Brandon Martell. Also survived by numerous friends and family members-aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death by Grandmothers Violet Reyes and Jean Smith and step-brother Blaine Martell. Also preceded by aunts, uncles and cousins and special friend Katie Ives.

Russ had many nicknames such as Son, Slim, Junior and Boot. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and golfing. His first love was hockey! Russ played youth hockey for Minneapolis South where he made many lifelong friends-Brandon Jones, Justin and Jason Poitra, Eddie Sundstrom and Tony Velasquez.

Slim went on to play high school hockey at South High School where he made the All-Conference Team. He also earned a varsity letter playing tennis for the South Tigers.

Junior loved playing pool with his Uncle's Richie and Danny Reyes. His dad, "Big Russ", bought a pool table where he learned to master the game with his dad and uncles.

Growing up in the summer you could find him on the water fishing Lake Winnie and golfing all over Minnesota with his dad and friends or playing tennis with his Uncle Danny.

Services:Wake starts on Friday December 5th at 1 pm at the Dave Morgan Community Center, 15032 Old Housing Drive, Bena, MN and continues until Saturday, December 6th, with a prayer service at 11am.

Pall Bearers: Brandon Jones, Bobby Headbird, Jamal Baird, Gino Erwin, Jack Reyes, Eddie Sundstrom, Tyler Bogda, and Danny Reyes.
