On Thursday, November 7, 2024, Ruth Abington, loving mother of two, passed away at the age of 85. Ruth was born on August 6, 1939, to LD and Aleen Mash. Ruth married Rafael Capo’ and raised two daughters. Later in life, she divorced and remarried Eugene “Doc” Abington who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters Susan (Robbie) Primeaux, Jessica (Tom) Barlow, grandchildren William Armstrong and Bryce Primeaux.
Ruth was born and raised in Antioch, Arkansas. She lived most of her life in either Antioch or Beebe, AR. After completing high school, she enlisted in the United States Air Force where she was an IBM keypunch operator. Later she attended college at Arkansas State University.
Ruth had a passion for painting. Her paintings almost always consisted of outdoor landscapes.
She also loved taking care of others, which led her to a career in nursing. Cooking, gardening, and reading were some of her most favorite hobbies. Family was very important to her as well as her pets.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 4-6 pm at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, AR 72012. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10 am and with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. To sign the online guest book, go to www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook.
