Obituary of Ruth Ellen Anglin
Ruth Ellen Anglin (91) joined her Savior in Heaven, passing away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 12, 2024. (Mothers Day) She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael, sharing life through 67 years of marriage. She is survived by their 3 children, Laura Kibler (Gary) of Sterling, Va., David Anglin (Lori) of Arlington, Va., and Melissa Grimes (Greg) of Duluth, Ga., 6 grandchildren, Grant, Christine, Lindsey, Conner, Dalton and Kristen, and 3 great grandchildren.
Ruth was born in Great Cacapon, WV in 1933. She was the only child of Lester and Josie Kidwell. Their family moved to Arlington, VA where she met the love of her life, (Mike) during high school. She attended Georgetown University and became a dental assistant in 1953. Ruth and Mike were married in 1955. She took a break from working for 20 years to raise their 3 children. In 1976, she reentered the work force as a medical secretary for an oncologist in Washington DC. She retired in 1994 to help out with her grandchildren. Ruth had a strong faith and taught Sunday school to little ones and also led women's bible study groups throughout her entire life.
In more recent years, Ruths face would always light up when she received visitors, especially children and animals. She was known for always being kind to others. She always had a smile on her face. She loved sitting outside in the sun, admiring Gods work, especially the clouds. As dementia stole her memory, she never once forgot how to quote scripture from her Bible or sing old hymns. She would want to be remembered for her love of Jesus.
There will be a short graveside service at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Va on Saturday, May 18 at 2pm.
