She was born in Fombell, Beaver County on April 24, 1935 to the late Phillip and Treva (Raisley) Ketterer.
She was married to Vincent E. Assalone on June 25, 1952 while on a three day pass from the Air Force. They celebrated 71 years of marriage.
Ruth loved spending time with her family, playing games (especially when she was beating her husband and her great-granddaughter, Adriann), building puzzles, reading Amish books, and of course, being on Facebook and watching Fox News.
Ruth formerly sold Avon and Tupperware, and retired from Traco, where she assembled windows.
She is survived by her husband, Vince; two daughters, Holly Hammers and husband Doug of Kennerdell and Marcy Cooper and husband Greg of Fombell; her grandchildren, Donny and Liz Hardisky, Nicole and Zac Jones, Justin and Abby Cooper; and great-granddaughters, Hailey Hardisky and Adriann Jones. Also surviving are three sisters, Linda Hessler and husband Eugene, Helen Gobrich and husband George, and Alice Jacob and husband Robert; a brother, Clifford Ketterer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Treva Ketterer; a granddaughter, Amber (Hardisky) Lucas; and a grandson, Brandon Cooper.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Concord Church, 285 Concord Church Road in Beaver Falls, PA 15010, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John Phipps, officiating. A luncheon will follow in Bethany Hall.
