Mrs. Ruth E. (Malone) Assarsson

Ruth E. (Malone) Assarsson age 97 passed away on September 3, 2014 at the Rock County Long Term Care in Bassett, Nebraska. Ruth was the middle child, born on April 8, 1917 to Clancy T. and Hattie (Shaddock) Malone. She grew up with an older sister Aileen (Malone) Yenglin and brother Bob Malone in Todd County, South Dakota on a farm just north of Crookston, Nebraska. Ruth married Fred Assarsson on July 9, 1936. They farmed in the Spirit Lake area in Iowa for seven years, and then moved south of Ainsworth, where they lived until retiring to Ainsworth. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother, and two great-grandsons. She is survived by her two sons, Gary and wife Barbara Assarsson of Long Pine, Nebraska, and Clifford and wife Pauline Assarsson of Ainsworth, as well as daughter, Louree Beguin and husband Ernie of Ainsworth. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside Services were held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Ainsworth Cemetery with Donnie Painter officiated at the service. Memorials were directed to the Rock County Long Term Care or to the Ainsworth Senior Center. Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth was in charge of the arrangements.
