Ruth A. (Furtado) Baffoni, 87, of Johnston, passed away September 27, 2025, at Cherry Hill Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Donald J. Baffoni.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Agnes (Piantedosi) and John Furtado.

Ruth lived a life filled with love, kindness and generosity. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, cherished grandmother, loyal friend and a pillar of strength to all who knew her. Through out her life she touched many with her warmth, compassion, infectious smile and sense of humor. Before retiring, Ruth worked at the Town of Johnston's Recreation Department. She was a coach and President of the Johnston Girls Softball League and Coordinator for the Johnston Women's Softball League. She also served as the Deputy Commissioner for the State Youth Softball Leagues.

Ruth enjoyed tennis, card games, knitting/crocheting and puzzles. She had a passion for bingo and was an active bowler for more than 60 years. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Besides her husband, Ruth is survived by her three children, Beverly A. Keefe and her husband John, Donald J. Baffoni and his wife Camilla and Robin E. Valenti and her husband Domenic. Her 7 Grandchildren, Donald, Adam, Amanda , Brianna , Domenic, David and Danielle, a Great granddaughter, Serafina, and her Sister, Joann Parrillo

Her funeral will be held at 8:45 am Friday, October 3 from the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory to Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St. Johnston, RI 02919 are greatly appreciated.

Ruth was a very special person she was kind and very funny. I enjoyed the time we spent at the Johnston Senior Center playing cards and bingo. She will be missed.
