Ruth Ann "Ennis" Beasley

he train bound for Glory Land pulled into the Heartland Nursing Home on Saturday, December 27, 2025 waiting for those that hear the call, "abide with me". Ruth Ann Beasley, 89, of Casey, IL answered her Heavenly Father's beckoning and boarded the train.

The Glory Train delivered Ruth safely in the arms of Jesus, her blessed, precious redeemer at 11:40 p.m.

Ruth Ann Beasley was born July 22, 1936 (one of the hottest days on record) in Oilfield, IL, Clark County, to parents Elbert Grier Ennis and Mary Fern Veach Ennis. On January 8, 1955 she married Gene K. Beasley of Casey at the Willis Chapel Church of God, Martinsville, IL. Gene passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL.

Survivors include sons, Randy (Holly) Beasley of Ft. Myers, FL and Steven Beasley of Austin, TX; brothers, Dwight Ennis of Westfield, IL and Morris (Mary Kay) Ennis of Decatur, IL; sisters, Zoe (Gary) Chittick of Clinton, IL and Martha (Jerry) Menser of Westfield, IL; granddaughter, Julia (David) Duarte of Clover, SC; grandson, Kyle Beasley of Ft. Myers, FL.; great grandbaby Duarte expected in May; sister-in-law, Sharon Ennis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother, Theron "Pete" Ennis; sister, Sharon Stephen; brothers-in-law, Warren Stephen and Stephen Williams; sisters-in-law, Leeila Felkamp Ennis and Joyce Sawyer Ennis; and special friend, Bill Williams.

Ruth was a Westfield High School graduate. She worked at the C.T.& N (which stood for Casey, Toledo & Neoga) telephone co. in Casey before she and Gene migrated north and settled in Aurora and then Montgomery, IL where their boys spent their school days. They traveled with the boys as time permitted and later in life. They lived in Ft. Myers, FL for many years where Gene owned and operated an auto repair business with Ruth working in the office. Ruth, along with her husband, were active in the church wherever they lived. She always enjoyed reading her Bible. Then they circled back home to Oilfield, IL in 2001 (to the joy of many, including her mother Mary) where they built a house where the old barn once stood at the home place. Soon after they fixed up the Oilfield Store and Ruth was busy there selling hamburgers.

Ruth loved serving the Lord and spending time with friends and family, especially her two grandchildren. A very hospitable person, she was the one that gathered the family to celebrate birthdays or just to visit. Everyone felt so welcomed in her home or wherever she was, as she greeted them with her wonderful smile which produced only one dimple on her left cheek. She was blessed to enjoy her later years with Bill, whom she had known for many years. She will be missed greatly!

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. before services on Saturday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.

Memorial donations and contributions in her honor may be made to Salisbury Church, 2190 Co. Hwy 5, Charleston, IL 61920 (Hutton Church) where her last membership was.
