Ruth Beecham Obituary

Ruth Ann "Ruthie" Beecham, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 14, 1938, to William and Rubye (Waldron) Hull in Muskegon, MI, where she was a lifelong resident of Fruitport. Ruthie worked for Fruitport Public Schools, where she proudly served the community as a bus driver for 13 years, before continuing her career with Sealed Power Corporation for 22 years. On July 31, 1954, she married the love of her life, Duane "Joe" Beecham. Together they shared 71 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and adventure. A faithful servant of the Lord, Ruthie was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Coopersville. In her younger years, she and Joe were active members of the Mona Lake Boat Club. Ruth Ann was a woman of many talents and passions, music being one of her greatest joys, whether listening, whistling, or singing alongside Joe during karaoke nights. Ruthie had a gift for nurturing life, tending to her beautiful flower gardens and caring for her six beloved chickens and her loyal dog, Maggie, who was always by her side. She cherished spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved "gal group," whose monthly gatherings brought her great joy. The holidays held a special place in her heart, with Christmas and Easter being her favorites. Whether hosting pool days with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, decorating her home to perfection for Christmas, or watching the excitement of an Easter egg hunt, Ruthie found her greatest happiness in creating lasting memories with those she loved. Her radiant smile, kind spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Duane "Joe" Beecham; two children, Mike (Barb) Beecham and Julie (John) Krehn; six grandchildren, Nathan Krehn, Cody (Brittany) Krehn, Caleb (Audrie) Krehn, Matt (Sarah) Beecham, Molly Beecham and Gabe (Camille) Beecham; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Linda Hull and Jean Thiesen; brother-in-law, John (Cathy) Beecham; beloved pup, Maggie; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Robin Beecham; two brothers, William Hull and Terry Hull; and two sisters, Connie Rettinhouse and Marilyn Damvelt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at St. Michael's Catholic Church- Coopersville, 17150 88th Ave., Coopersville, MI 49404, with visitation one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Dear Julie and John, sending prayers and condolences to your family. Ruthie was a fine example of walking the road of faith. I enjoyed my years of working with her at Hy-Lift. She is now our Heavenly angel watching over us, until we join her again. God bless you!
