Ruth Lomax Bell was born May 22, 1953 in McCormick County, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth Lomax. She transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Ruth was a beloved family member and friend who brought joy and laughter into the lives of those who were blessed to know her. She had a big heart and the love she gave to everyone was genuine. One of her passions in life was shopping online and talking on the phone and texting.

She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.

She leaves behind cherished memories and love that will never be forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband Curtis L. Bell; daughters, Tamika Bell of Calhoun Falls, SC and Pamela Postell of Brooklyn, NY; son, Wayne (Michelle) Postell of Calhoun Falls, SC; grandchildren, Stephanie and Alexus Ellis of Brooklyn, NY, Deinisha Bell of Greer, SC, Demetri Bell, DeAnte Bell, Dasia Bell, Alicia Bell, and Dalia Bell all of Calhoun Falls, SC; sisters, De Loris Peterson of Abbeville, SC, Jeanette (John) Kennedy of Calhoun Falls, SC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Kennedy, Kathleen Banks, Gloria Gray, Connie Wardlaw, Virginia (John) Glover, William (Marlene) Kennedy, Audrey (Jeffrey) Ford, Dale (Johnny) Gilchrist, Robert (Cindy) Kennedy, Carrie Lomax, and Leola Lomax; a special niece, Margie Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Felicia M. Bell; brothers, James Marshall, William, Willie, Herman, and Cleveland Lomax; sisters, Effie (Willie) Page and Louise Wideman; and in-laws, Henry Kennedy, Annie L. Kennedy, Keith Kennedy, and Raymond Peterson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville, SC. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home (Calhoun Falls).
