Ruth V. Beversdorf, 95 of Wittenberg, died on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at home, under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Ruth was born on April 23, 1929, in Lily, WI, the daughter of Clyde and Bernadine (Gilray) Larzelere.
On February 7, 1948, Ruth was united in marriage to Willis 'Chub' Beversdorf in Lily, WI. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2011.
Ruth was employed at the Wittenberg Telephone Company for over 30 years. She was an avid golfer and swimmer. Ruth was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and their ladies aide. She also served as the treasurer at St. Paul for many years before retiring at the age of 85.
Ruth is survived by her children, Richard (Mary) Beversdorf, Wallace (Lynn) Beversdorf, Bruce (Laurie) Beversdorf and Dan (Joan) Beversdorf; daughter-in-law, Sharon Beversdorf; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Schraufnagel; sister-in-law, Monica Wixtead, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, 'Chub'; parents; sons, Carl and Terry; brothers, Herbert Larzelere, Harry (Blanche) Larzelere and George (Jeanette) Larzelere; sister, Mary (Ray) Zillman; brothers-in-law, Steve Schraufnagel, Ray Beversdorf and Robert 'Jim' Beversdorf.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Matthew Christians will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.
Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements. Memories and messages of support may be shared at schmidtschulta.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care given to Ruth.
