Ruth Margaret Brenke

Ruth Margaret Brenke, 85, of Little Rock, died Sunday, July 28, 2002. She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the eldest daughter of A. A. and Anna Gloggner Brenke.

Survivors include her two sisters, Helen Fouhy, of Peerless, Montana, and Mary Ann Stafford, of Maumelle, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth attended Annunciation Academy and Pine Bluff High School. Her earliest employment was in her parents’ florist shop, later hiring on at Pine Bluff Arsenal when it opened in 1942. She worked there as Chief of the Budget Branch until she transferred to Karlsruhe, Germany in 1961. While she was there, she traveled extensively in Europe and Asia. In 1963 she transferred to Edgewood Arsenal, Baltimore, Maryland as Budget Officer, residing first in Havre de Grace and later in Aberdeen, Maryland. After retirement, she became a real estate agent. She moved to Hot Springs Village in 1996, and then to Parkway Village in Little Rock, in 2001.

She was a member of Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler St., Little Rock, AR.

A rosary service will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, Thursday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass is scheduled in the church at 10:00 a.m., August 2.
