Ruth Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. on Dec. 28, 2025.
Ruth B. Brown, 89, a lifelong resident of Tremont, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Zerbe, on Sunday, June 7, 1936, a daughter of the late Irvin "Frank" and Ruth Holwig Mack.

She was a 1955 graduate of the former Tremont High School.

Following graduation, she worked for several years in the local garment industry. Ruth will be remembered for the thirty years she spent at the former National Hotel in Tremont. She was known to do anything that was asked of her, but making pizzas was her specialty.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont, and the Tremont Community Organization.

In her younger years, she enjoyed country line dancing and doing ceramics. Ruth was also an avid Phillies fan. She had a talent for baking cakes, and she loved making birthday cakes for her family. She also had a huge heart for animals, especially dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Bohr-Lutz, and Agnes Kohr; two brothers, Robert and James Mack.

She is survived by a sister, Thelma Renninger, and a brother, Laine Mack, Sr. and his wife Cheryl, all of Tremont. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Following Ruth's wishes, she will be laid to rest privately in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tremont Community Organization, 139 Clay Street, Suite 5, Tremont, PA 17981.
