Corey Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Feb. 18, 2026.
Corey Tyrell Brown, 49, of West Hartford, beloved husband of 10 years to Marjorie (Laboriel) Brown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Hartford on June 30, 1976, he was the son of Bobby Brown of Albany, GA and the late Queen Elizabeth (Williams) Jones. Corey was raised in Hartford and Bloomfield and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Class of 1994.

Growing up, Corey was constantly surrounded by his large family and countless friends. His mother was one of 18 children, and his father also came from a large family in Georgia. Corey spent meaningful time both in the Hartford area and in Georgia, forming deep bonds with his extended family.

After high school, Corey moved to Georgia to live with his father and later relocated to Virginia, where he lived for several years before returning to the Hartford area. He began his professional career at the law firm Halloran Sage, working in the office. His outgoing personality and natural charisma later led him into sales, first in retail and eventually as an entrepreneur.

Corey owned his own T-shirt company, Prints by C, and was well known for his signature logo, "Gotta Do's Over Wanna Do's." He also spent years producing his own hip-hop and rap music, expressing his creativity and love for culture through his art.

In his spare time, Corey loved traveling, listening to his favorite music, bowling, dancing, and relaxing at home or at gatherings with family and friends. He was fun-loving, easygoing, and fly. Known for being laid-back, family-oriented, and the life of the party, Corey's unique personality earned him the affectionate nickname "Cool C."

Most recently, Corey purchased a 1986 Chevy Caprice and was looking forward to restoring it and taking relaxing drives with his wife and children. Above all, Corey will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and all-around family man. His family will deeply miss his presence, his "30-Second Hugs," and the warmth and love he brought into their lives.

In addition to his loving wife, with whom he shared the last 22 years, and his father, he leaves to mourn his passing his two daughters, Corynne T. Brown and Chloe T. Brown, both of West Hartford; one brother, Steven Williams of Hartford; four sisters, Yolanda Williams-Jackson of East Hartford; Celaya Clarke and her husband Jerrefe of Thomasville, GA; Zandra Banks and her husband Roderick of Atlanta, GA; and Dellisa Holmes and her husband Mark of Valdosta, GA; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 1-2 p.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 2 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a scholarship fund that the family has established for Corey's children. Donations may be made to the Corey Brown Children's Scholarship Fund by visiting https://www.tmcfunding.com/funds/corey-brown-children-s-scholarship-fund/15469/.
