Ruth Lynn Wise Tingle Cox, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was born on July 8, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Everett and Catherine Winkler Wise. She later settled in the Kansas City area, making her home in Liberty, Missouri, where she built a life defined by love, laughter, and strong personal connections.
Ruth was the loving mother of Stacey Tingle and Carrie Tingle Bohling, and the proud grandmother of Damon Hollis, Kendal Bohling, and Brecken Boschert. Her family was her greatest joy, and she shared with them a warmth, humor, and quiet strength that left a lasting impression on each of them.
She found joy in dancing, working on puzzles, and playing games. She enjoyed going to the movies, trying her luck at the casino, and taking drives or road trips with friends. She always enjoyed the small triumph of finding a good bargain and took comfort in winding down with a reality TV show.
Blessed with a quick mind-especially when it came to numbers-and a spirited personality, she was remembered with a smile by those who knew her. Even after all her years in Missouri, she never lost her Kentucky accent. Her life was enriched by lasting friendships, and she will be remembered not only as a loving mother and grandmother, but also as a trusted friend and confidant-more appreciated and admired than she ever knew.
Her passing leaves an ache in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will be deeply and forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Liberty, Missouri.
