Ruth Frances Ferebee

Ruth Frances Godwin Ferebee, age 88, of South Mills, NC died on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Born in Belcross, NC on August 27, 1934 to the late Asbury Bruce Godwin and Clara Edna Perry Godwin, she was the widow of Joseph Spence and James Ferebee. She worked as a Bander for the Weyerhaeuser Company and was a member of Sawyer's Creek Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Griffin and Demetria Riddick; two sons, Joseph McCoy Spence, Jr. and Reynold Spence; a sister, Lois G. White; a brother, Hiram Godwin; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Linda Spence Greene and Cassie Joe Spence; a sister, Mary Godwin Harris; and three grandchildren.
