Oradell Hadessa Britton Ferebee, age 97, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on November 8, 2025.
Oradell was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, to William and Blooma Britton. She was their only child. She attended school in Virginia and went on to work in the government for the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Office of Special Investigations (OSI). She met and married her “Boo,” Alphonso Ferebee, on May 17, 1972. They were blissfully married until his death in 1995. She missed him dearly. We know they have reunited and will be in eternity together.
Oradell was known for her quiet yet spunky spirit. You could count on her to call you out of the blue just to say hello. She was a devout Catholic and loved to watch and listen to religious shows.
A grave site service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery (date to be announced) where she will be buried with her loving husband, the late Master Sergeant Alphonso Ferebee of the U.S. Air Force.
She is survived by her devoted son, Holloway, a host of grands and great grands, other cherished family members, and longtime friends.
‘The heavens are a little brighter . . . now that Oradell is among the stars!”
She will be missed
