Maurizio Massimo Luise

of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2025. Born in Napoli, Italy, he immigrated to the U.S. as a child and built a life marked by hard work, faith, and love of family. A respected restaurateur in the Washington, D.C. area, Maurizio began in his father's restaurant and rose to Director of Operations for the Cava Restaurant Group. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Catherine Oliverio, and their children Scarlett, Jude, Bibiana, and Gianluca; father Giuseppe; siblings Sergio, Francesco (Cathy), Joe (Blair), Melina, and Keri (Morton); and 14 nieces and nephews. A man of warmth, generosity, and joy, Maurizio will be remembered for his devotion to family, love of food and art, and trademark smile. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Rd, Silver Spring.
