Ruth George Obituary
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday January 28, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled for Thursday January 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Joe E Jones Memorial Chapel with Mr. Shawn Elliot and Mr. Randy Wilson officiating.
Burial will immediately follow at the Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Ruth was born October 12, 1934 in Goodlett, Texas to William Trammel and Pearl Trammel (Cole)
Ruth loved life, and was enjoyable to be around. She enjoyed social settings and absolutely liked visiting with people. Ruth attended Trinity Fellowship Church. Ruth went on a spiritual retreat, "A Walk to Emmaus" she often would re-read her letters from that retreat and re-live the beautiful moments. Ruth's family will remember her for her love for cooking, garage sales and her ability to decorate a home.
Ruth is survived by her Daughters, Jannie Tipton ( James), Charlotte Shoffner (Terry); Sons, Chris Sloss (Bonnie), Steve Sloss (Pauletta), Tim George (Crystal) along with numerous grand children, great grand children, and great great grand children; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her Husband, Cecil F. George; Father, William Trammel; Mother, Pearl Trammel (Cole); Sisters, Loretta Meadows, Geneva Bourgeois; Brother, Benton Trammel
