Ruth "Nannie" Haggard was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 11, 1932 the daughter of the late John and Lantie Dean Rose Evans.
On February 18, 1950 she was united in marriage to Barney K. Haggard, who preceded his wife in death on July 30, 1983.
Ruth had worked for Clifton Manufacturing and Brown Shoe Company. She stayed home the last 25 years of her mother's life to care for her. Ruth was a member of Mount Carmel Methodist Church in Clifton, Tennessee. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, sewing, quilting, cooking, and working puzzles. Ruth's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 91 years and 25 days.
Ruth is survived by one sister, Robbie Ricketts; grandchildren, Bridget Ray, Leiah Gillis, Miranda Haggard, Marian Fisher, and Adam Haggard; great grandchildren, Kaylee Paul, Maycee Parmley, Daniel Devers, Dalton Devers, and Abigail Haggard; and one great great grandchild, Blakely Paul.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Haggard; daughter, Donna Ray Talley; sisters, Johnnie Maxine Evans and Marilyn Dean Evans; and brothers, Royal, J.E., Buck, Curtis, Jack, Howard, and Rex Evans.
