Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory - Port ClintonRuth P. Havens, 77, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on March 16, 2026, at Magruder Hospital. She was born August 4, 1948, in Port Clinton to John and Mary (Neff) Smith.
Known as "Ruthie," "Big Red," and "Pattie," Ruth was outspoken and full of life. She worked various jobs over the years, including at local pizza shops, delivering newspapers, laundry at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, and in housekeeping at Holiday Inn.
She married Roger Havens on March 25, 1980, in Suffolk, Virginia. Ruth enjoyed romance novels, crossword puzzles, TV cooking shows, the Sci-Fi and Hallmark channels, Pepsi, and cooking her famous fried chicken. She loved holidays with family, volunteering at the humane society, and ringing the Salvation Army bell.
She is survived by her children, Clayton Havens, Catherine (Travis Clark) Havens, Lissie Havens, Roger Havens Jr., and Angela Greathouse; grandchildren, Searia Havens, Shyia (Dylan) Keller, Clayton Havens Jr., Alex Havens, Maddison Havens, Nicholas Clark, Chloe Clark, Kenidy Clark, and Zane Clark; great-grandchildren, Rhyker Keller, Mateo Sandoval, Mesiyah Sandoval, Saivlee Keller, Jared Reaper, and Elena Dague; sister, Sharon (Michael) Fought; special nephew, Johnny Smith; and numerous loved extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters; Darlene Smith, Anna Smith, and Mary Horn-Colon; and many other cherished family members.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 11:00 am until the time of her service at 2:00 pm at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
