Ruth A. Hendrickson, 97, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025 at Father Baker Manor in Orchard Park, NY. A lifelong area resident, she was born in Kennedy, NY July 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert and Alice Hopkins Johnson.

Ruth was the widow of Howard R. Hendrickson whom she married Dec. 12, 1947 and who died April 20, 2010. She lived in their home on Fluvanna Townline Road for 75 years until moving into assisted living at Elderwood in Hamburg, NY. She was a lifetime member of the Fluvanna Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

Surviving is her daughter, Judy (Adrian) Davis, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Kelly McLanahan of Indianapolis, and Christopher (Jen) Mealy of Noblesville, IN; two nephews, Nils (Janine) Wikman of Springville, NY and Robert (Carol) Johnson of Warsaw, NY; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Howie, Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters: Margaret Sheets, Sadie Hancock, Florence Johnson and Doris Wikman; and by her brother, Clifford Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13th in the Lind Funeral Home. Ruth's nephew, Robert Johnson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lind's.

Memorials may be made to the Fluvanna Fire Dept. or the Fluvanna Fire Dept. Auxiliary, 3536 Fluvanna Ave. Ext., Jamestown, NY 14701.
